REDBULL CAPE FEAR June 6, 7 2016
The RedBull Cape Fear event went down on monday and Tuesday of this week, and widespread word is thats its the craziest surf competition to go down in history. It truly was terrifying.
Monday was 15ft and absolutely ridiculous. Super heavy mutant beasts unloading on the dry shelf for the first 2 rounds until it was called off until the next day, which was about as good as ours has ever been seen.
Thanks to RedBull and Mark Matthews and Ryan Hipwood for letting me shoot the event front and center for the event. I photographed some of the best empty waves, surfed waves and moody wave art of my life over the 3 day swell. Some are pictured below and others are coming out online and in magazines in coming weeks. Will post a huge photo essay once its all released, but for now check out the ones below, or some of the empty images in our premium collection section when you can hang one of this crazy ocean art in your own home or office!
